Commercial Manager – Aluminium (Sales and Purchasing)
Swansea
Circa £38,000 DOE Plus Benefits
Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global leader in aluminium rolled products and extrusions, aluminium recycling and specification alloy production. An opportunity has now arisen for a Commercial Manager to join the UK recycling team.
As a Commercial Manager you will be responsible for sourcing and developing a customer base, securing long term contracts with customers and developing a supplier base in order for our client to meet their raw material requirements.
This will involve meeting with clients and suppliers, in both the UK and Europe. This will involve close collaboration with other group facilities.
Your duties will include:
- Buying, and selling scrap aluminium
- Selling recycled aluminium, both spot and long term sales
- Negotiating volume, prices and annual accounts with clients
- Controlling all administrative requirements for the commercial department
- Ensuring key accounts are supported and continuing to improve the delivery of service
- Developing and training staff
To be considered for this position you must have commercial sales experience. You must also be a self-starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver profit.
Whilst not essential, previous experience of metals trading would be beneficial, as would knowledge of hedging. Knowledge of Oracle admin systems would be desirable but training will be given. The ability to speak German or French would also be desirable.
This post is office based in Swansea but for the right candidate our client will offer this as a home based role, although regular visits to our client’s office in Swansea will still be necessary. Travel is required within the UK and Europe.
