We are working with a well established M&E contractor with a turnover of £100m and a strong presence across the residential and mixed use sectors who require x2 mechanical supervisors to join their London business unit. 

Depending on your location and/or preference you will have the choice of 2 projects to join in North or West London. Both are sizeable mixed use residential projects (£15m+) being delivered for leading developers which are just about to get to site for deliver stage. 

As mechanical supervisor you will report into a mechanical project manager and be given a specific part of the mechanical package with an overview to manage and motivate specialist subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of the project to PC. 

The successful candidate for this role will: • Ensure that adequate labour (of the correct quality) and materials are on site to maintain the progress required by our customer. These materials need to be stored/protected to minimise waste and that all of our work is done in a safe manner. • Ensure that the quality of work is to a good standard (British Standards) and acceptable to our customer. • Ensure all health & safety and environmental issues are complied with, and that all Operatives are fully compliant with the correct CSCS card. • Liaise with Woodford’s Project Manager / Site Manager to advise them of any problems that you cannot resolve. • Liaise with our customer to advise them of any issues which may not allow all of our work to be done within the correct sequence, and that work is ready to be carried out. • Record any delays in writing and where required, collect any variations, site instructions, dayworks from our client, and ensure that they are given to Woodford’s surveyor, and a copy kept in the Site File. • Record kept up to date site safety file, check that our work is being done safely • Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure that the site is completed on programme and within the agreed budget. • All work should be checked and installed in accordance with the manufacturers/suppliers specifications and signed off by the personnel supervising the job. • Be able to communicate adequately with site labour either directly or through an interpreter. • Will ensure all operatives under their control observe the Company Health and Safety policy and ensure that task specific Method Statements are adhered to at all times. • Must ensure they have a material schedule issued to them to call off materials if and when required. • Fully coordinate and cooperate with Site Management at all times. • Ensure a full site dairy is maintained and used to record issues on site, which will then be reported to the Site Management. • Ensure basic site procedures are understood and key roles are developed. • Must ensure operatives are cleaning their own working areas and are working safely. • General walking of the site to monitor progress and give clear guidance when necessary. • Fully coordinate with the site operatives and ensure all works are being completed as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. • Ensure operatives are booking in their timesheets as required. • Run a safe site and improve safety for the workforce. • Ensure and maintain a high standard of quality. • Ensure all health & safety and environmental issues are complied with and that all Operatives are fully CSCS competent with the correct card. • Complete a diary daily and ensure that all mandatory plant and material forms are completed. • Ensure that materials are checked on site and verified against delivery dockets. • Interpret construction drawings and ensure schedules are produced for any materials required. • Implement method statements and risk assessments. • Ensure all work is checked and installed in accordance with the manufacturers/suppliers specifications and signed off by the personnel supervising the job.
