On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our team to deliver planned client identified project works. This role is based on-site at our client’s Weybridge Campus
Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will be a key member of the Customer Forward Maintenance Team, Customer Technical Team, and FM Project Team and will be responsible for overseeing all project delivery related to mechanical services, including Boilers, Chillers, AHU’s, Lab Extract Systems, Steam distribution, and refrigerant.
Working closely with Site Managers, FM Managers, Stakeholders, Designers, and Suppliers to ensure successful project implementation.
Your role will be to assemble the necessary professional support, and construction delivery teams to support the planned annual project programmes released by DEFRA client.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking client briefs on mechanical projects
- Understanding project initiation stages
- Considering new technology
- Understanding the dependencies on business critical systems on a building (Science is business critical )
- Remedial works or asset replacement works
- Liaise with key partners to come up with right spec (driven by obsolescence, modernisation and sustainability) e.g. new boiler replacing old boiler
- Project implementation, delivery, documentation, supply chain, handover & warranty management aligned to the Clients' Operational Process Framework
- Responsible for delivery in adherence to the Companies UK Project Standards & Playbook
- Responsibility for Health & Safety and CDM on relevant projects
- Implementation & compliance with all statutory, Company procedures
- Financial ownership and management & reporting of own projects P&L
- Team development/mentoring
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Demonstrable PM Experience within a Mechanical discipline as a Tier 2 supplier
- Proven track record in high class project management/professional service delivery
- Educated to at least Degree, HND or equivalent full technical standard.
- Technical expertise and qualifications in a recognised discipline (Fabric/Electrcial/Mechanicals/Civil etc)
- Knowledge of key operational procedures, eg, project road maps, planned maintenance systems, Quality and Health & Safety
- Good understanding of CDM Regulations (2015)
- Good computer skills – MS Project, MS Office etc
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is essential
- Experience of Government Contract Administration tools such as CEMAR or FastDraft would be an advantage
- Knowledge of High pressure systems and clean rooms/labs would be advantageous
- Ideally hold a recognised PM qualification (e.g. RICS / APM)
