Yard Person

38.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Rotational shifts between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00

As a Yard Person at SMT GB Volvo, you’ll play an important part in ensuring our workshop, wash bays and fabrication shed are kept clean and orderly.

You’ll have a variety of responsibilities such as washing, valeting machines ready for despatch as well as:

• Booking in machines and checking for damages or faults
• Loading machines onto low loaders for despatch
• Parking machines efficiently to maximise yard space
• Communicating with departments and drivers about delivery schedules
• Booking in and controlling couriers in and out of the depot
• Ensuring records are accurately maintained

Requirements

Health & Safety conscious and with basic IT skills, previous yard and valeting experience would be advantageous.

An FLT or Loader licence is useful but don’t worry we can put you through the required training. A full UK driving licence is essential.
