We are currently recruiting for a Infrastructure Development Engineer to support a Central Government Department with the development of platforms and associated infrastructure.
  • Remote Home Based
  • £500 per day via a umbrella company
  • SC Security Clearance Preferred
  • 6 month initial contract 
The platform is to enable collaboration between partner organisations, with easy sharing of data, code and other assets in a robust, secure way.

You will:
  • Gather requirements for platforms and infrastructure
  • Develop shared software environments (e.g. docker containers, conda environments) to support these platforms and hackathons.
  • Develop trial implementations on cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, and private linux compute clusters.
  • Support testing of platforms by supporting trial projects and events
  • Put relevant and appropriate security measures in place to protect data and other assets.
This role will combine elements of the infrastructure engineer, technical architect and software developer to deliver the desired outputs so candidates will ideally have experience in some of the following:
  • Infrastructure development using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes
  • AWS and Azure cloud awareness
  • Docker
  • Linux
  • System integration 
  • Design – Turn business problem into technical design
  • Security – understand information security and the security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services
Preferences will be given to candidates who have current SC Clearance but those eligible to apply will be considered.
