We are currently partnering with an expanding accountancy organisation in Farnham, recruiting for an Audit and Accounts Trainee to join the Compliance team.

This is a full time, permanent position, with flexible and hybrid working options available.

This is a trainee position which includes full training and support. Whilst you will have a mixture of both audit and accounts work, the position will be primarily accounts focused.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build productive working relationships within the organisation and with clients
  • Develop and apply technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications
  • Use accounting software for accurate reporting to managers, partners, and clients
  • Produce profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
  • Prepare basic tax computations and returns, such as corporation tax
  • Prepare working papers, including bank and other reconciliations, and manual control accounts
  • Help prepare and finalise statutory accounts under your manager's supervision
  • Assist senior staff on audits, including checking bank reconciliations, attending stock takes, preparing profit and loss schedules, and auditing debtors and creditors
Experience/Skills Needed:
  • You must have either 3 A Levels (Grades A, B, B or above/equivalent), or you are a university graduate (or are graduating this year) and are on track for a 2:1 or above
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 5 or above
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A positive, confident, and proactive attitude 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
  • Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies
  • Relevant work experience and/or experience would be great but not essential
