Electrical Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and other engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee the design and development of electrical systems and components.
  • Utilize software tools for electrical design and simulation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of electrical engineers.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Plan and conduct tests to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Analyse test results and make design improvements as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during testing.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for electrical designs, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for project reviews.
  • Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and codes.
  • Interact with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary certifications and approvals.
  • Manage and control costs associated with electrical engineering projects.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in electrical engineering processes.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Provide technical support and address client concerns.
  • Identify potential risks associated with electrical designs and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and cohesive designs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Speaking Dutch is an advantage, but not mandatory
  • 3+ years experience in the offshore wind industry.
  • MSc/MEng preferred or Ba with working experience.
  • Experience with (offshore) substations (design phase).
  • Critical mindset, process focused, interdisciplinary.
  • Electrical Engineer at Low voltage, SCADA and Lighting.
