A leading manufacturing business require an Electronics Buyer. Applicants need experience in the procurement of; PCB, PCBAs, cabling, wiring and electronic components. MRP literacy and familiarity with manufacturing, advantageous.

The Electronics Buyer will join a team of Buyers reporting to a Supply Chain Manager. Leading all electronics procurement activities for the business, the Electronics Buyer will bring knowledge of the CEM, component and distribution market to the business. The role has a fantastic mix of strategic and operational procurement tasks - such as scheduling/re-scheduling of orders, supplier development and negotiation.

Specific duties of the Electronics Buyer will include:

  • Supplier development and supplier improvement activities of critical supply and subcontract partners
  • Maintain supplier data in MRP
  • Manage supply of products and components to meet customer/production demand
  • Identification of new suppliers
  • Liaison with stakeholders in production, engineering and on the shop floor
  • Support initiatives to drive efficiencies and improvements in procurement processes/systems

Electronics Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in purchasing as a Buyer or Senior Buyer ideally within an OEM or CEM environment
  • Strong knowledge of the electronics market, supplier landscape, components, PCB, PCBA, wiring, harnesses etc.
  • An understanding of MRP/ERP
  • Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders, both senior and operational
  • The ability to think creatively, to solve procurement issues
