We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting lessons to meet the needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes students' emotional and social development.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour using effective and compassionate strategies.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor student progress and adjust support as needed.
  • Encourage and motivate students to build their confidence and independence.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
