Land Manager required for a major offshore wind developer based in England

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the projects external land agent to negotiate and secure full land rights for the onshore infrastructure associated with the offshore wind farms and provide all documentation necessary for Development Consent Order (DCO) application(s).
  • Manage relationships with internal and external project stakeholders including commercial and legal advisers.
  • Support the development and delivery of the projects land rights strategies including the use of statutory powers and compulsory acquisition.
  • Review and provide advice and recommendations (including budgetary and commercial) to the projects on all stage land agreements including temporary licenses, heads of terms, option agreements etc.
  • Work closely with Consents and Engineering teams to ensure that proposed acquisition of land rights is aligned with the project design envelope and Environmental Statement to form the basis of a competent DCO application. This includes alignment between DCO Limits and land plans and works plans.
  • Act as the project point of contact for Landowners.
  • Ensure that the projects land obligations are collated, and compliance monitored throughout all preconstruction survey activities.
  • Support in the drafting and delivery of onshore crossing agreements with utilities operators.
  • Liaise with Engineers and Commercial Team to ensure all liabilities associated with the projects land rights are understood and appropriately managed.

Requirements

  • Degree in land related discipline and Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (preferred).
  • Experience in land acquisition and surveying, in offshore wind projects or linear and/or electrical infrastructure projects (essential).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the consenting and land rights regime for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (experience preferred).
  • Previous experience managing land acquisition in a major project or operation (including CPO).
  • Excellent and demonstrable interpersonal, communication (oral and written), leadership and team-working skills.
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work across project teams and lead through influence.
  • Ability to maintain commercial position in relation to agreements being negotiated and minimising project risk as far as possible.
  • Management of budgets and report writing.
