Senior Bookkeeper/Payroll

Our client, based in High Wycombe, is looking for Senior Payroll/Bookkeeper to assist with the day-to-day running of the business, whilst working with a small team to deliver high standard bookkeeping and accounts preparation services.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with clients, ensuring deadlines are met and accounting standards upheld
- Maintaining the accounts of a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Co-ordinating and actively participating in a variety of services to include year-end accounts and tax return preparation, management accounting and VAT returns
- Liaising with potential new clients and actively taking part in the on boarding of new clients
- Monitoring work flow and coordinating service delivery to clients
- Working closely with the directors, having an influential role in the direction of the company’s future and strategy
- Looking to further develop the firm with client growth, having a clear route for progression within the company
- Designing, improving and maintaining of effective financial systems and processes
- Maintaining and updating policies and training in relation to Anti-Money Laundering regulations issued from HMRC from time to time
Daily/Monthly Responsibilities:
- Processing payroll
- Preparing/processing VAT returns
- Year End preparations
- General office administration
- Bookkeeping and data entry
- Processing expenses
- Bank reconciliation
- Processing sales and purchase invoices
- Dealing with enquiries from clients and other third parties
- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Processing CIS entries and reporting CIS on monthly returns
Special Requirements:
- Qualified to AAT Level 4 (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years in an accounting role
- Working knowledge of Sage or Quickbooks or Xero
- Previous experience with Management Accounts
- Ability to prepare accounts for Limited Companies to trial balance level
- Some IT experience of updating accountancy software in a windows environment
- A self-starter with the ability to contribute to the professional running of the company
- Amenable and adaptable and a “go to” person in the absence of the main director
Hours of Work (Office Based) : Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm
