Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Appointed Person to join our team. As a Senior Appointed Person, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing crane operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting activities, demonstrating expertise in crane operations, and rigging techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough site assessments and surveys to determine the most efficient and safe lifting solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive lifting plans and method statements in accordance with BS 7121 standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and crane operators to ensure smooth execution of lifting operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team, always ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Appointed Person or similar role in the crane hire industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and lifting regulations.
  • Proficiency in developing lifting plans and method statements including AUTO CAD
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPCS or NPORS accreditation.
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related field is preferred.
