Electrical Design Engineer

£30,000 - £50,000/annum

My client is an established business delivering turnkey engineering projects from initial concept and design through to installation and commissioning. With an established and highly experienced design team they are able to deliver a variety of client requirements from one off panel redesign to large scale upgrades and modifications.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their existing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drawing up project plans and technical diagrams using engineering design software
  • Estimating costs and project timings
  • Testing installations and systems, and analysing results
  • Ensuring projects meet safety regulations
  • Coordinating the work of technicians and craftspeople
  • Overseeing inspection and maintenance programs
  • Electrical design of control panels and switchboards

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering alongside either an NVQ L4 or HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an electrical design role, including proficiency in creating and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics and blueprints
  • Previous experience of designing control panels and switchboards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve electrical design problems efficiently and effectively
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to estimate costs and project timings accurately
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards in electrical engineering
  • Experience in overseeing inspection and maintenance programs
