Strategic Buyer 

I'm supporting a true global leader within their space in Cannock. The business is looking for a Buyer with an proven skillset who can bring fresh ideas & improvements to the purchasing department, to join them on a permanent basis. Business is a niche manufacturing business with a global footprint & customer base.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Research & deliver the implementation of overall Strategic Procurement for the business
-Manage tactical procurement activities with daily routines and deadlines installed and adhered to.
-Manage departmental KPIs and improvement targets
-Manage supplier development planning with key supplier groups
-Manage ongoing cost down program(s) and initiatives
-Promote and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
-Monitors suppler quality, initiating containment activity and agreeing sustainable corrective action with suppliers
-Evaluate supplier performance on regular basis, putting development plans in place and validate/approve all major price increases


Skillset Requirements:

-Demonstrable procurement experience at the buyer level, ideally within a manufacturing environment

-CIPS qualified or working towards desirable but not essential.

-Proven ability in activities such as: suppliers negotiation , spend analysis , cost savings.
