Job Role: Controls Engineer
Location: Southall, West London
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Controls Engineer on behalf of one of our market leading food manufacturing clients.

The role is responsible for dealing with electrical diagrams and fault finding, working with Siemens PLC’s.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control systems for food manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and program PLCs and HMIs.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics and control diagrams.
  • Using a dual skilled approach, ensure all reactive and proactive maintenance is completed in a timely manner and according to the quality and HSE guidelines.
  • Full mechanical understanding of power transmission systems and product manufacturing.
  • Electrical skills will include a full diagnostic ability in fault finding of all electrical systems up to and including PLC level and a full ability to understand electrical diagrams is a necessity.
  • Fault finding and programming of robotics.
  • Actively participate in lean initiatives including TPM.
  • Show a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Ensure full compliance on all engineering data systems.
  • Be comprehensive and able to demonstrate root cause analysis skills and a solid fault finding process on both electrical and mechanical systems.

Experience required:

  • Experience working within a Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer role within an FMCG environment, ideally within the food manufacturing industry.
